The Demonstrator & Control of the Programme.

QTVI visits to listen to parents, staff and carers, answer questions and suggest ideas may need

to be frequent initially. The Early Vision Trainer is designed to promote visual curiosity and

improve basic figure/ground visual perception in a child. But what seems to be a simple

programme and fun equipment in demonstration is based on up-to-date research. To be

effective it may need a change of behaviour in the adults themselves. The principles behind

these simple activities need to be understood; observation needs to be used effectively. To

encourage parents who may be unsure or to enthuse staff in a busy school to follow your

advice is no easy task.

For you, the demonstrator, it demands a good understanding of early vision development,

and a determination to interest others in this. You are the controller, so agree on targets and

block periods right from the start – and follow them through.

It helps to foster a curiosity in the interactivity of eye, brain, hand and .... that amazing

world out there.  It does you good, too, when a child stills, gets excited, or just laughs at a

puppet face for the first time.
